Turf Management

At Northern Meadows, we are committed to maintaining healthy, beautiful turf through our landscaping contractor. Our goal is to ensure homeowners enjoy a lush, well-maintained lawn throughout the growing season, contributing to the overall aesthetic and value of our community. We focus on the factors that can impact the health of your turf, such as water, fertilization, aeration, pests, and more. Below is a list of items that are included with our landscape contract.

  • Mowing: Weekly mowing is performed to a height of 3 inches during the growing season to maintain a neat and even appearance, promoting healthy grass growth.
  • Edging and Blowing: We edge paved surfaces adjacent to turf and blow walkways and turf areas after mowing to ensure a tidy, well-kept look.
  • Weed Control: Pre-emergent herbicides are applied to prevent weeds, and post-emergent treatments are used as necessary to control any weeds that may appear. MSDS can be found on the community portal or resources page.
  • Pest and Fungus Monitoring: Regular monitoring for pests and fungus helps to address any potential issues promptly. If needed, treatments and overseeding are applied to maintain healthy turf. If you are noticing browning in areas of the lawn, it could be indicative of grub damage or fungus. Set up a ticket to have it inspected.
  • Watering: Proper irrigation is essential for turf health, and we ensure that the turf receives the correct amount of water throughout the year. If you notice there are any issues with watering, such as broken heads or heads are needing adjustment, please set up a ticket online to have it inspected.
  • Fertilization: Fertilizer is applied a minimum of four times annually to support strong and vibrant grass growth.
  • Aeration: Annual aeration is provided to improve soil compaction and nutrient absorption.

If you notice any issues with your lawn, we encourage you to set up a ticket in the Mojo Helpdesk for evaluation. Our landscaping contractor will assess the situation and provide solutions to restore your turf’s health.
